Greenbanks - Access Statement
Introduction
Greenbanks was once a 18th century coach house in rural Norfolk. Now renovated and redesigned Greenbanks offers accommodation and leisure facilities for all. 5 ground floor suites for wheelchair users and a heated indoor swimming pool with full access.
Greenbanks prepares quality food using local fresh produce to create superb dishes adapted for all dietary requirements, including coeliac/gluten free and dairy free. Large print A la carte menus are available.

• The nearest Radar toilet is in East Dereham at Barwells Court, Market Place or Cowper Road car park in the daytime.
Arrival and Car Parking Facilities
• 3 spacious accessible parking spaces with level access along a gradient 1:17 path, leading to reception and accommodation.
• Assistance with luggage is available.
• There is a large ornamental sign displaying Greenbanks and a Flap sign with the name and telephone number.
• The route from the car park to reception is along a non-slip concrete path, 1.3 meters wide with 1:17 gradient.
• There is dusk till dawn lighting in the car park and to accommodation.
Gardens
• The outside environment has been created with FULL ACCESS FOR ALL.
• Specially constructed 1.3 meters wide paths, with non-slip surface, around the buildings to raised flowerbeds and Japanese garden for wheelchair users to enjoy independent on-site activities.
• Fishing bays with platforms for disabled fishermen are provided around the large lake.
• 'Dusk till dawn' automatic lighting is operable at all times (throughout the year) particularly in the car parking areas.
Main Entrance and Reception
• Main reception door is 1 meter wide providing FULL ACCESS for wheelchair users.
• All surfaces are stone with no rugs or carpets to impair wheelchairs.
• Reception has low levels Check-in counter in line with wheelchair users.
• No steps and a level turning space for wheelchairs users.
• Always in-house assistance to help carer; keys, access around the property and with registration.
• Main door open from 7am - 11pm. Own entrance keys available for each room guest.
Public Areas and Restaurant
• The building has 4 bedrooms on the first floor, which are not readily accessible to wheelchair users but can be used by others - sight/hearing impediment.
• Wide entrance doors, 1 meter wide, FULL ACCESS throughout and to garden sitting room as well as FULL ACCESS to toilets.
• No rugs/carpets in the restaurant or sitting areas.
• There is a television available in the reception lounge with high firm seating. All rooms and suites have T.V.
• Restaurant tables measure 29" 74cms in height FULL ACCESS for wheelchairs with arm supports. High backed dining chairs measure 18" 46cms from the ground.
• Waitress assistance throughout service in the restaurant.
• Braille menus available.
Toilets
• FULL ACCESS from restaurant, garden and garden room.
• Hands rails are provided and there is full turning space for wheelchairs.
• Carer to be responsible.
Accessible Bedrooms and Ensuites
• 5 ground floor rooms with wet room shower facilities have pull down shower seats. All accessible for level 1 and 2.
Rooms 7 and 9
• Grab rails within wet rooms.
• Full turning space, high sinks and raised toilet seat on request.
Room 6
• Fully accessible for wheelchair users.
• Raised toilet seat on request.
• Grab rails in wet room and full turning space.
• An extra dressing room for carer.
• Twin divan style beds, which are high and have firm mattresses.
• Rugs in the room are removable.
• A visible fire procedure to assembly point.
• TV teletext it available, and beverage facilities at a low level.
• Pull cords for lighting.
